Get Involved
Allocations Committee:
Volunteers who sit on the Allocations Committee have a direct say about where United Way dollars are allocated in Halton Hills. They review all applications for funding, and make recommendations to the Board of Directors on the allocation of funds for the upcoming year. Our allocations volunteers have a sense of the community they live in and enjoy working in a team and are able to make decisions in a collective setting. Click

Board of Directors:
Board members help establish policies and procedures for the organization and identify long range plans. A board member holds the most senior volunteer role with the highest level of responsibility. Members are ultimately responsible for the successful financial management of the organization and are legally responsible for the workings of United Way of Halton Hills. Members participate in monthly meetings and work with staff toward mutually acceptable goals. Attendance at specific events may also be required. Board members usually have a three year term.
Campaign Committee:
The United Way of Halton Hills fundraising campaign generally runs from September to December. Preparation for campaign however, occurs year round. There are many volunteer positions on our campaign committee - each with varying levels of responsibility. Duties may include setting strategies and providing leadership in campaign, recruiting other volunteers to help and meeting with local companies to support and advise on running United Way campaigns.
